Message for College Students and Community Members

 

This is an update about changes that are being introduced at Murwillumbah Community College from Monday March 30th in response to the COVID- 19 Coronavirus.In light of the latest Government requirements about ‘social distancing’ and overall advice to ‘stay at home’ and minimise contact with others we have decided to change the way in which we provide services to the community over the next period from March 30th to April 27th. This decision is to support the safety and health of you and our community overall.

 Initially these changes will apply in the above period.

(April 27th is then the intended start date for Term 2. Nearer to that date we will review the situation and update you about arrangements that will apply from that times on).

From March 30th to April 27th the following arrangements will in place:

  • Full Qualification Courses currently in progress will transfer to an online mode of training through a mix of  phone, email, teleconferencing, online application and one to one phone tuition. Students will be supported in this transition by their trainer and an IT Support Specialist in accordance with their group training and individual support needs Practical Placement will be achieved when it is safe to do so.

  • Enrolments for any Full Qualification Courses with start dates after April 27th will be advertised separately and at this stage will be delivered online subject to any changes after April 27th either if the College reopens its training facility or maintains online delivery.

  • Short accredited courses and Lifestyle and Leisure programs are currently cancelled. Staff are currently contacting students who have enrolled in these course.

  • We will advertise separately any short accredited or lifestyle courses that may be provided after April 27th.

  • While our premises and training rooms are closed our  Staff will be available by leaving a phone message on  (02 6672 6005), or through our Facebook message ‘app’ or by email reception.mcc@bigpond.net  For business enquiries  or to express any concerns please email  the Manager on  acembah@bigpond.net.au.

  • We are committed to responding to you by return phone call or email on the same business day.

  • Our Facebook page and Website www.mbhacc.net are also a source of extra information.
