Q: What is Smart and Skilled?
A: Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It’s helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers. To find out if you’re eligible for Smart and Skilled training, go to the Eligibility Checker.
Q: What is a unique student identifier and why do I need one?
A: A unique student identifier (USI) is like an account number with 10 numbers and letters. It looks something like this: 3AW88YH9U5. Everyone undertaking a nationally-recognised vocational education and training (VET) qualification in Australia needs a USI. Anyone who is thinking about doing a VET course can also get a USI. You only need one USI, and it’s yours for life.

Q: I’m currently receiving Centrelink payments. Can they pay for my course?
A:Centrelink may approve certain accredited courses. Please enquire further with Centrelink.
Q:Is there extra work over and above attendance in Accredited Courses?
A: Each Accredited Course has its particular study requirements. These CAN include homework, work placements and excursions. Please enquire about this when you enrol.
Q: I’m unable to pay for the Accredited Course Fee in one lump sum. What payment options do I have?
A: We require a deposit at Enrolment however payment by instalments can be negotiated. Please ask about these options when you enrol.
